As an educational addition to our regular daily tour, this is one of our most flexible options.

A popular choice for those with smaller class sizes or home school groups that do not require a dedicated guide or private tour. This is an economical way to explore the cave, often with other visitors during regulary scheduled tour times.

Students will receive an educational cave bingo card to complete during their visit.

Enhanced School Group Tour

Great for medium or large size school groups with 10 or more students

This program is appropriate for school youth of all ages, even pre-schoolers. Upon arrival, schools with more than 25 participants are broken into groups, each with a maximum capacity of 25; that count includes teachers, students and parents. A dedicated tour guide will be assigned for each group.

Groups leave in 15-minute intervals with no more than 75 participants (3 groups of 25) in the cave at any point in time .

One benefit of the enhanced tour is that your tour guide can customize the tours content so learning opprtunites are tailored and age-appropriate for each group, this also minimizes wait times ensuring everyone get personalized content in the most effecient way. The tour lasts from 45 – 50 minutes per group.

If desired, teachers may also opt to have students use the Stark Caverns Education Bingo Card. Each student participant up to 5th grade will also receive a replica arrow head souvenir at the end of the tour.

Our most comprehensive choices, the educational program requires 1-2 hours to complete and consists of between 3 and 5 interactive learning modules, each focused on a specific educational area. Students will participate in brief hands-on activities at each learning station.

The number of modules depends on the total number of students that will be attending, with the minimum number of participating students of 30 and a maximum of 75, there are 3 modules. For each additional 25 students, another module will be added up to 5 total modules.

The core modules are Cave Eco-Systems, Missouri Archeology and Earth Sciences. With 76 - 100 participants, we add American Settlers, and with 101 - 125, we add Cave Mapping.
